John 1 The Deity of Jesus Christ

v1. I the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the WORD WAS GOD.
   God was, is, and always will be.
v3. All things came into being through God and apart from God nothing ever was.
    Without God earth would not exist. No living thing would be in existsance.
v4. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
v5. The Light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it.
Jesus was the Light and those who lived in darkness did not understand/grasp Him
    Comprehend: comprehend

Definition:

It was hard to comprehend the sheer scale of the problem.
